Fifth Grade Passport

Cost: $35 administrative fee (plus tax). 

Eligibility Requirements: Open only to currently enrolled fifth grade students, VT/US residency not required. Proof of grade required during purchase.

Comprised of: Vouchers used to redeem for a lift or trail ticket. 

Includes: Three (3) lift ticket vouchers to each of the participating alpine ski areas. 
Up to three (3) trail pass vouchers to each of the participating cross-country areas.

The Passport allows a fifth grader to obtain either a free lift ticket or trail pass with the redemption of a reserved single use barcoded voucher at a participating area. Vouchers are reserved in customer portal and then redeemed as instructed by the ski area.

• View Participating Areas, Restricted Dates and Redemption Information prior to purchase. 
• Usage is subject to restricted and/or limited inventory dates and redemption requirements. Vouchers cannot be redeemed if student fails to follow the ski area’s outlined voucher redemption requirements or has reached max capacity for the day.
• Passports are valid each season starting when each participating ski area opens through their closing date. 
  
• One (1) Fifth Grade Passport per student. Students may only participate once in the 5th grade passport program. Ski Vermont reserves the right to cancel and refund applications for students who are flagged as having already participated in this program, regardless the season or use of previously purchased product. 
  
• Passport students must be accompanied by a lift ticket or pass-holding adult. An adult may bring up to two passport bearers. 
• Ski Vermont Fifth Grade Passports are sold through Ski Vermont’s pass portal, issued digitally and then managed in customer portal. Regular access to portal is required to use the passport. No physical product will be mailed.

• Ski Vermont Fifth Grade Passports are sold online only, issued digitally and then accessed via customer portal. 
• Passport requests are reviewed before activated. Review and approval take approximately 2-3 business days (processing M-F only). Please plan purchase time accordingly. All sales are final, unless passport application is rejected by Ski Vermont.

How to Apply: 

1. Log in or create an account in the portal. 

New Accounts: Complete the account creation and household information page. The account username, password and email address will be used to access the Fifth Grade Passport and manage use. Once created, you will be brought to the pass product page to purchase. 

Existing Account: Log In. Any active products purchased will be displayed. Click "Add Product" to navigate to the purchase screen.   

2. On the "Pass Product" page, choose the Fifth Grade Passport and follow the steps to complete the online application (gift code box remains blank). Proof of current grade for the current calendar year and a picture of the fifth grader need to be uploaded during this process. The picture will be used as identification by ski area staff when redeeming vouchers.

NOTE: If 5th Grader's school is not listed in drop down, or homeschooled, type in vs picking from drop down. 

3. Complete Purchase: Review cart. Click on ‘edit’ to update any information or remove from cart BEFORE payment step.

• Payment box set to auto advance once card information provided. If view distorted on mobile, flip phone horizontal to proceed.
• Customers must agree to terms and conditions and all sales final before payment will be accepted. 
• A confirmation of PURCHASE is emailed from a no-reply once the application process is complete. Customers can log back in their account at any time to view activation status, will state pending or will show as active.

Acceptable proof of grade documents must show your child’s name, grade, and date (school year or actual date supporting document was issued).

• A current school year report card/progress report with student name, school portal screen shot, teacher welcome letter, or letter from school administration are all acceptable as long as they have the above requirements.
• A final 4^th grade report card with student name (must contain school year or issue date),
• If your child is homeschooled, a transcript of 4^th grade completion/ current 5th grade enrollment (if your state provided you with one), a birth certificate, or other state-issued documentation (accepted on a case-by-case basis) may be uploaded as proof.

All sales are final, unless passport application is rejected by Ski Vermont.

1. Ski Vermont reviews each application to verify that it meets the approval requirements. This approval takes approximately 2-3 business days (processing M-F only). Please plan your purchase accordingly.

If additional information is required to approve, Ski Vermont will send a request email outlining what needs to be supplied and will hold the application as pending until information is received.

2. Upon approval, customers will receive an email update with activation status. Please check spam (no-reply email address) or log back into your account if no email is received after 3 business days. Customers will see if pass is pending or active.

Ski Vermont 5th Grade Passport is comprised of vouchers. Vouchers are reserved in customer portal and then redeemed as instructed by the ski area for lift or trail ticket.  

Voucher Reservation: The process the parent/guardian and/or fifth grader completes—by logging into their portal, selecting a ski area and visit date to generate a single-use barcoded voucher required to redeem for a lift or trail ticket. 

How to Reserve Vouchers:
1. Access customer portal: log in to your portal account. The name displayed in the large box at the top indicates the person who the voucher is being reserved for. If you have multiple active products on an account, change names as necessary by clicking on the desired name(s) listed under the primary displayed name. 

2. Choose ski area: Scroll/move down the page to find the desired ski area and click "More Info" prior to reserving to review ski area’s restricted dates and redemption requirements. Please note some alpine areas also have cross country access and are listed separately, choose the correct voucher option. A XC voucher will not work to obtain downhill lift ticket. 

3. Reserve Voucher: To obtain a voucher, click available for redemption and chose the desired visit date. Click reserve voucher. 

• Voucher reservations may only be made up to seven days (7) in advance, including day-of.
• Voucher reservations are final and cannot be changed by customer (procedure to request exception out lined under Unable to Use Voucher).
• Reserved vouchers in the Ski Vermont portal do not guarantee the student a lift ticket or lift ticket reservation privileges unless otherwise indicated by the destination ski area in their redemption Information.

Dates may not be available for the following reasons: 

• It is outside the 7- day reservation window.. 
• It is one of the dates listed as restricted or with limited inventory by the ski area.
• The ski area has reached general max capacity for the day and has requested Ski Vermont to block the date to avoid customers being turned away at the window.

Option 1: View reserved vouchers in portal. Log in to your account, scroll down to the destination ski area and to the voucher that states reserved (if multiple reserved at that ski area make sure to choose the correct date for visit). "Click to view" will display voucher.

Option 2: View voucher via email. A copy of each reserved voucher is automatically emailed. This email can be forwarded to the accompanying adult as needed or printed to present if ski area allows.

Follow the destination ski areas redemption requirements outlined under Participating Ski Areas, Restricted Dates and Redemption Information for ski area details on this page or the "More Info" in customer portal. 

Review requirements prior to arriving as they vary by ski area, and some require advance online lift ticket reservations using the reserved barcoded voucher. 

Participating ski areas are listed below, along with their restricted dates and voucher redemption requirements. 

Restricted Dates: When vouchers are not valid. Ski areas may also have limited inventory dates.

Vouchers: Reserved barcoded vouchers are required to redeem for a lift ticket. The process the bearer and/or account manager completes—by logging into the customer portal, selecting a ski area and visit date to generate a single-use barcode—is a voucher reservation.

• Ski areas CAN NOT generate a lift ticket their redemption requirements are not met or if they have reached max capacity for the day. 
• A reserved voucher in the Ski VT customer portal does not guarantee a ticket or ticket reservation privileges unless otherwise stated in a ski area’s redemption process.

Regular Operating Schedule:  A date may still show as available in the portal for reservation if Ski Vermont has not received the closure information from a ski area.

Email support@passes.skivermont.com PRIOR to the date of the reserved voucher with request to revalidate. Include child’s name, voucher number, ski area and selected redemption date so we can work with you to re-validate the voucher for future use at our discretion.*

If you are turned away at the ski area due to max capacity when attempting to redeem, you must email that same day stating max capacity as the request for revalidation reason. We will confirm information with the ski area and re-validate* the voucher for future use at our discretion. 

* If any voucher has already been used to complete an advanced online ticket reservation, re-validation will not be an option as that voucher number is already registered in the ski area's system and not work for you again. Customers will need to work with the ski area directly to request date change.

• Purchaser’s Responsibility: Purchasers are responsible for reading the following and ensuring 5^th grade student passholders are familiar with, and agree to abide by, the Terms and Conditions of use. Passport holders need to be accompanied by a ticket- or pass-holding adult. An adult may bring up to two Passport holders.
• Pass Misuse: Purchasers understand Ski Vermont reserves the right to revoke a passport, without refund and in its entirety, either for the remainder of the 2024-2025 ski season or in perpetuity, if any vouchers are found to have been used in violation of the conditions of use set forth herein. Passports are only valid for use by the 5^th grade student issued to. Students may only participate once in the 5th grade passport program, one passport per student. Ski Vermont reserves the right to cancel and refund applications for students who are flagged as having already participated in this program, regardless the season.
• Voucher Entitlement: Each individual voucher entitles the student to a one-day lift or trail ticket and are subject to restricted dates and reservation/redemption requirements. Reserved vouchers do not guarantee the student a lift ticket or lift ticket reservation privileges unless otherwise specified by a ski area in their redemption process. Participating ski areas are not obligated to redeem voucher if a ski area’s redemption and/or reservation procedures are not followed or if the area has reached max capacity for the day.
• Voucher Reservation and Redemption: Voucher reservations may only be made up to seven days in advance, including day-of, based on ski area availability. It is the account manager/student’s responsibility to review and follow each ski areas’ restricted dates and redemption procedures.
• Ticket Restrictions: All participating ski areas reserve the right to restrict or prohibit lift tickets obtained using a 5^th Grade Passport voucher from being used in conjunction with other offers, special events, races, or competitions of any kind.
• Additional Charges: Vouchers may be subject to additional charges depending on specific area’s ticketing technology, RFID cards for example. Ski Vermont vouchers are considered equivalent to single day lift tickets.
• Refunds/Exchange: Ski Vermont 5^th Grade Passport vouchers are only valid as of ski area's opening date in 2024-until ski areas closing dates for the 2024-2025 season. They are not eligible for cash refund under any circumstances and cannot be carried over or exchanged for use the following season. All Passport sales are final.
• Ski Area Terms: Ski areas reserve the right to change and update terms as they deem necessary.
